What would you do if…

I had a friend share this video with me and with all things goal related, I was obsessed.

I love goals and when I first got into goal setting the idea of being able to do anything was a little hard for me to process.  I’ve always had supportive parents (I mean I got a degree in dance from a large university for goodness sake).

But what does it mean to live in possibility?

Let your past be your past.  We tend to look at the past to create our future.  (Well my last boyfriend always did that, which I hated so I’m not going to date anyone who even thinks about that…I never got to do that as a child so I’m going to make darn sure my kids do.)  A goal set from the past will most likely create more of what already exists and thus is innately limiting.

Remove preconceived constraints.  What limitations do you create for yourself? I don’t have enough time/money/etc.

Those limitations are more boundaries of I’m not making it a priority.  Priorities should be rooted in your values.  So what do you value?  Or how do you determine your values? (That we’ll save for another post).

Fear will always be there, so acknowledge that and do it anyways.  Fear is the number one thing that stops us from taking action.  Why?  Because we are genetically engineered to “survive.”  All species are, but surviving is not truly living.

These are my top three favorite questions from Brian Tracy for goal setting:

  1. What would you do if you won $1 million?
  2. What would you do if you only had 6 months to live?
  3. What great thing would you dare to dream if you knew you could not fail?

These three questions really get me thinking in possibility.  You can do all those things, live that way, have that dream…you deserve it.

So how would your life be different if you lived in possibility every day?
